Buttery Onion Soup!

I have decided to start making the time to try out some of these recipes from the fundraising for Sissy Borel and the National Ladies Auxiliary  cookbook.  Today is my first and we are making Buttery Onion Soup.  I am excited just by the smells coming from my kitchen.. I think the family will be just as excited over a home cooked meal instead of eating out at a fast food place.

This recipe was donated by veterans wife that lives way down in the southern part of Louisiana.  We all know those little old cajun ladies can cook!  So far I have had every single ingredient this recipe has called for already in my kitchen.. so this is a very good thing to me!  I don't want to shop for special items just to cook a pot of soup.

Super Easy!!  Within 30 minutes this pot of yummy soup was complete!  My husband tried it.. he said he was tasting potatos.. but there is none in it.  Our 4 year old tried it and is sitting there eating quietly.  Our 6 year old tried it and has already said that he is getting more when he eats that bowl of soup!

I have bought those bags o instant soup at our signature Kroger here and spent almost 4.00 per bag and then tasted the "instant".   This soup was under 2.00 for the pot.. So for the 4.00 I could have a big pot of homemade from scratch soup in less than 30  minutes.  This soup is a keeper recipe!

You can get this in the fundraising cookbook for Sissy Borel and the Ladies Auxiliary Homecoming fund .. buy your copy HERE
